Linda Barakat is an Egyptian-American multidisciplinary fine artist and sculptor based in Michigan. Formally trained at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Barakat’s practice spans multi-dimensional mixed-media canvases, classic oil and acrylic painting, and hand-sculpted ceramic vessels.
Guided by her rich multicultural background, her work serves as a living archive exploring the profound, intersecting relationships between land, identity, culture, and memory. Across her canvas installations and sculptural clay objects, she focuses on enhancing overlooked details, exaggerating physical textures, accentuating lines, and expanding on the emotional landscapes we carry within ourselves.

My artist practice spans from the intimate to the monumental. Through hand-built functional ceramics, tactile paintings, and multi-panel mixed media works, I explore our profound connection to land, memory, and physical terrain.
Whether crafting a charcuterie set meant to gather people around a table, or developing large-scale, installation-style works for public spaces, my goal remains the same: to create tactile experiences that ground us in our environment. I am actively expanding my studio practice toward site-specific public installations while remaining deeply committed to creating functional, everyday objects.
